What keeps the company going

Of course with any good business there is a business that affects business: where it has to do with competitive, economic, political + legal + regulatory, technological, cultural + social, demographic, and natural forces. Thus far air jordan has yet to sink ship beacuse of neither of these causes above. On the contrary Air jordan has made Nike 800 million dollars in 2008 since his last retirement in 2003 from the Washington wizards. Air jordan has no competition when it comes to his basketball attire and sneakers. Anywhere and everywhere you go someone is wearing his brand. Michael Jordans marketing team are good at what they do and they way they put out and promot the brand, which keeps comsumers coming back and buying more. All of these factors play a huge role in how a business works.

Air jordan is the most well known sneaker empire aside from converse and adidas. But this empire is owned by one of the greatest basketball players who has ever lived Michael Jordan. Michael jordans is not only a great player, business man or father but also cares about the community and kids who are less fortunate. Michael donates to numerous of charities such as Boys' and Girls' Clubs of America, CharitaBulls, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics just to name a few.
Michael Jordan also hosts the Michael Jordan Charity International Golf Tournament.

"In 1994 Michael Jordan founded the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club and Family Life Center, named after his father. The Center, in Chicago, Illinois, opened to the public after receiving a $5 million donation from the Chicago Bulls and a $ 2 million personal donation from Jordan."

Air Jordans Strategic planning

Air Jordan is known world wide and so is its owner Michael Jordan. Micheal Jordan made a huge name for himself and was offered a great deal with Nike later on to branch out to his own without the nike stamp behind his sneaker. "Before the AIR JORDAN, all basketball shoes were white. This simple statement only begins to describe the sheer magnitude of the changes that were about to occur to the sport of basketball and to the athletic footwear industry once Michael Jordan entered the league. Since Michael’s arrival and the launch of the AIR JORDAN franchise, both the game and the industry have been utterly transformed." Till this very day a new pair od Air Jordans are release every month. Before when Michael was playing in the NBA he wore his own brand and it was to enhance performance and comfort while playing these days i think its more of a fashion statement, yes other do actually use them to play basketball but others where them because of the flashyness and the style that these sneakers contain.Michael Jordan created pairs of sneakers that will never go out of style and created a very goood reputation and him and his company know that. This is why they re-release these sneakers in different styles and what they call packages which is two pair of jordans in one box.  "Today’s AIR JORDANs continue to build on the franchise’s rich history of innovative design and uncompromising performance. Inspired by the greatest to ever play the game, the franchise continues to lead and shape the athletic footwear industry into the future. As Michael’s legend continues to grow, his legacy in the AIR JORDAN franchise lives on".
